St. Mark Parish and School Celebrates 136 Years Serving the Catholic Faithful

Our Faith

Grounded, fortified and nourished by the Eucharist, the members of St. Mark Church share with all the unconditional love of God through active witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ by learning, living and loving our faith.

We are called the Catholic Church from the Greek katholikos (καθολικός),meaning “universal”. Our traditions allow for a vast expression of our faith, while drawing us into greater unity with the worldwide Christian family.

Faith

  • We believe in one Triune God: Father, Son, Holy Spirit,
  • That Jesus redeems all suffering, and restores us by His Passion, Death, and Resurrection,
  • That we are called to a personal, intimate relationship with Him,
  • That we have been given the Church as a family on earth to support us,
  • That we are called to respond in love with generosity to God and to others.

Morals

The Catholic Church emphasizes the role each of us plays in providing a just and safe society, including teachings on:

  • Life and Dignity of the Human Person
  • Call to Family, Community, and Participation
  • Rights and Responsibilities
  • Option for the Poor and Vulnerable
  • Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers
  • Solidarity
  • Care for God’s Creation

Worship

  • Community worship is an essential act of living out our faith.
  • Sunday Mass is a weekly gift of our time and our very selves when we gather to praise the Lord and receive Him in the Eucharist.
  • Other opportunities to worship, and adore Him enrich our faith and build our bonds as a parish family.
