Sacristans

Sacristans support the priest and other ministers in preparation for Mass by setting up all items required and being available during Mass should a need arise. These individuals also return all items to their proper storage following Mass. Sacristans serve on Saturdays, Sundays, Holy Days, weekdays (only if there is an evening Mass). Individuals must be fully initiated and at least in the 8^th grade; training is required.

We are in the process of developing a “Sacristan Manual” with complete details regarding your sacristan duties. Look for it posted on this webpage in the near future, as it is currently being compiled. In the meantime, if you have any questions, you are most welcome to contact Mrs. Mentzel.

Please review the schedule carefully and find a substitute well in advance if you are unable to sacristan on a day you have been scheduled. You must contact Mrs. Mentzel via e-mail and the Parish Office at 410-744-6560, ext. 231 or rclegg@stmarkchurch-catonsville.org with the name of your substitute.
